What is coaching and how is it different from therapy?

Coaching is a process in which an individual is empowered to achieve his/her goals in any aspect of his/her life. It is different from therapy in that it is not concerned with traumas and pains from one's past which are unresolved.
Therefore anyone seeking to resolve and work towards overcoming various difficulties relating to their past would be best advised to find a therapist. By contrast, coaching concerns itself with both the present and future, and in doing so, seeks to enable an individual to identify goals, what is currently working well/not so well, and to identify how they can achieve these goals.

It is therefore important to be clear about this difference when seeking personal change.
